Boris Pilipchuk, 37, was a hard-bitten, lifelong atheist, but he became a believer on September 16, 1996, in his home village of Novaya Siniavka, just north of Khmelnitsky, Ukraine, where he still serves as a senior lieutenant in the police force.
Although in apparently perfect health, he suffered a massive brain hemorrhage on returning home from work on July 27, 1998. He quickly became paralyzed and lost consciousness.
The Areanimation unit (resuscitation team) at the Khmelnitsy District Clinic kept his heart beating for several days, but it was hopeless.

He died with internal bleeding (and of course irreversible clotting) throughout 95% of his brain. Nine different tests showed he was dead as a mummy. After two and one-half hours of testing, he was draped with a sheet, put on a gurney, and wheeled to the morgue, accompanied by several attendants plus his disappointed, sobbing wife, who had gotten a large Christian conference in Mariopol to pray for him. The doors of the morgue were shut in the face of his wife to keep her from entering. The attendants were just walking away from the gurney when an enormous blast of energy and wind tore the doors off their hinges. As they clattered to the floor, the same force rolled the gurney back out into the hallway.
Boris sat up, and pandemonium reigned among the staff. One orderly slid along the opposite wall and fell down in complete panic. A nurse fell with him and lay in a state of terror. Another nurse came running up, looked at Boris, and went into shock.
Led by the Spirit, Boris stood up and began walking toward the doctors' lounge, where some of the frantic staff had retreated, locked the door, and shoved cupboards against it.
His sheet had fallen off, leaving him naked. Staff ran frantically in all directions, screaming. Yes, Frankenstein had met The Twilight Zone, but this was no movie, this was a real-life, dead man walking.
After a few seconds, his wife jumped from her knees, where she had been thanking the Lord, grabbed the cloth and ran after him. She managed to wrap him decently just before he opened the lounge door, easily, with a gentle push.
He found some of the staff speechless with terror. Others, huddled in a corner, shouted hysterically, "Who are you? What do you want from us? Leave us alone!!"
He tried to calm them down and said, "Don't be afraid. Just give me some clothes." He saw from their faces that they were stone cold with fear, and any explanation would have fallen on deaf ears.
He returned home, and for two weeks, 15 different medical committees did tests to see if he could remain in police service. In the end they had to admit he was healthy as a cosmonaut and allow him to return to work. Curiously, they all agreed to certify his death and they all accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior! But for professional reasons, only one of them has ever agreed to certify that he is alive today! Go figure.

You'll find that the report is not without its touch of comedy, provided mainly by Boris's co-workers, who looking right at him could not accept that he is alive.
But the best part is Boris's articulate description of Heaven, which despite its dovetailing with Scripture will leave you shaking your head.
